Bulgarian navy marks 132 years
The celebrations of the 132nd anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian navy began with a solemn ceremony of the hoisting of the navy flag and the flags of the ships at Varna harbour. After that the officer ranks and the diplomas of the graduates of the Naval Military School were handed out. Prime Minister Boyko Borissov attended the graduation ceremony and awarded the top graduate of the class lieutenant Nikolay Stanev. On the eve of the holiday commander of the Bulgarian navy counter admiral Plamen Manushev announced that the first Panther helicopter was due in September, and by the end of the year two more helicopters of the same kind would be deployed to the Bulgarian naval forces.
